A Start to the Black Rhino
This is a dear family friends adopted black rhino. Her name is Donna, after the famous singer Donna Summer. After the elephant, the rhino is the largest land mammal. The rhino is also considered one of the oldest groups of species on earth; they are practically both living and breathing fossils. There are many kinds of rhinos, but what separates the black rhino from Asian rhinos, such as the Javan and Indian rhinos, is the fact that black rhinos have two horns and a hooked lip. Diceros bicornis, otherwise known as the black rhino largely populates Southern and Western Africa because of the large number of savannas. Rhinos are one of the most endangered species in the world. A rhino’s horn is made of ivory, which is considered a very valuable material.
The rhinos have been poached so severely that now their current population (an estimated 4,848) is 90% smaller than their population three generations ago. The rhino was first declared endangered by the IUCN (The International Union for the Conservation of Nature) in 1986. In the ESA (Endangered Species Act) of 1973, all subspecies of the rhino were declared endangered by the US government. Donna lost her mother to poachers last year when she was only two. Poaching is the biggest threat to not only the black rhinos, but rhinos everywhere.

I think that you should break up your paragraphs more because it is one long paragraph.
Your middle paragraph is a bit long, perhaps you should include a picture of a piano with ivory keys to demonstrate the use of of rhino horns cutting the paragraph in half therefor making your blog more approachable!
Thank you so much Jake! This helps so much!
